2025 Literacy Connects Us to the World

Veteran and new teachers alike have heard the phrase, ‘meet them where they are’ and/or the complementary phrase, ‘give them grace,’ yet what that looks like in practice is not clearly defined. In this session, participants will explore one interpretation of what it looks like to meet students where they are in the literacy classroom, discuss variations to fit their specific context, and construct a plan for how to meet students where they are and grow them to where they need to be.
